I don't particularly like hearts, offering flowers (although I admire them) has always seem to me like a bit of a waste, I'm not a hopeless romantic and I think Valentine's Day can be celebrated in any intimate dinner for two, with or without candles, in a restaurant or at home, simple or sophisticated - but where only the two, and the two alone, exist.
Still, it's impossible to pretend that this day doesn't exist and is celebrated on the next 14th all around the world... and, finally, as ordinary it may sound, all excuses are good to celebrate love.
This is my {flickr favorites} dedicated to S. Valentine and all couples who love each other.
The title is inspired by one of the best albums and best songs ever, by the incomparable Nick Cave.

I'm no romantic soul either but I do appreciate fresh flowers! They make me happy! :)
ReplyDeleteI think you have made an exquisite mosaic.
I thought there was some Nick Cave there...
ReplyDeleteIt's a lovely mosaic put all together. I believe, just like you, that this whole rosey harty mess can be done much simpler whenever you want. So much so that I completely forgot about the whole deal when making the mosaic today. Husband and I ussually forget about this type of celebrations and open a bottle of champagne whenever we actually fancy... :)
It's all very commercial this Valentine's Day.
ReplyDeleteI'd rather spoil my beloved ones with good food and a glass of wine and lots of cosiness.
Wow very special one!!
