Logo é noite de festa!
O S. João é a festa popular mais famosa da cidade do Porto. Logo à noite, as ruas ficarão cheias gente, de martelinho e alho-porro na mão, rumo à Ribeira para ver o fogo de artíficio sobre o rio à meia-noite ou a algum bailarico espalhado pela cidade. Entre música, dança, manjericos, bebidas e sardinhadas a diversão é muita e para os mais corajosos pode mesmo durar até de madrugada, se conseguirem chegar à praia de Matosinhos a tempo de assistir ao nascer do sol, depois de caminhar quilómetros entre a multidão...
Nas Águas Férreas as tradicionais decorações já estão montadas e hoje de manhã começavam a dispor-se as mesas para a festa. Vai ser o primeiro ano de S. João na nova casa e parece começar bem... a festa começará cedo e acabará tarde... Divirtam-se também!

S. João (St John) is the most famous popular festivity in the city of Porto. Tonight, the streets will be filled with people, with little plastic hammers and leek in their hands, walking toward the riverside to watch the fireworks over Douro river at midnight or looking for some jigging spread throughout the city. Between music, dance, basil, barbecued sardines and drinks the fun is great and for the brave can even last until dawn, if they can reach the beaches of Matosinhos in time to watch the sunrise, after kilometres of walking in the crowd...
In the neighbourhood the traditional decorations are already set and this morning the tables for tonight were already being set too. It will be the first year of S. João in the new house and it seems to be starting well... the party will start early and end late ... Hope you have fun too!
