Sim, pode dizer-se que tenho um certo fascínio por histórias de serial killers e psicopatas. Desde filmes como Seven ou American Psycho, até séries como Dexter e Hannibal - se for bom eu vou querer ver, se for baseado numa história verídica, a curiosidade e interesse aumentam.

Mindhunter, série lançada pelo Netflix, baseada no livro com o mesmo nome, é uma adaptação livre do percurso dos dois agentes do FBI que criaram as bases da ciência comportamental e profiling criminal tal como o conhecemos hoje. Sim, algo do que vemos no facilitismo com que são apresentados os perfis em séries como Mentes Criminosas tem, apesar de tudo, alguma razão de ser.

O facto de a produção e grande parte da realização serem da responsabilidade de David Fincher, já seria para mim motivo suficiente para dar uma oportunidade à série, mas o tema e as incríveis personagens (sobretudo Holden) convenceram-me rapidamente - a forma como são acompanhados alguns crimes e temos contacto com alguns dos mais conhecidos serial killers reais é particularmente cativante.

A recente notícia da morte de Charles Manson e o facto de ter terminado de ver a primeira temporada ontem, pareceram-me bons pretextos para deixar-vos com a vontade de ver a série e, quem sabe, investigar um pouco mais sobre o tema. Eu já acrescentei este livro e este à wishlist!

Mindhunter, the Netflix series based on the book of the same name, is a free adaptation of the story of the two FBI agents who have set the groundwork for behavioral science and criminal profiling as we know it today. Yes, some of what we see in the easiness with which the profiles are presented in series like Criminal Minds has, nonetheless, some reason for being.

The fact that the production and much of the direction is David Fincher's responsibility would already be enough reason for me to give the series a chance, but the theme and the incredible characters (especially Holden) convinced me quickly - the way we follow some crimes and have contact with some of the best known real serial killers is particularly captivating.

The recent news of the death of Charles Manson and the fact that I finished seeing the first season yesterday, seemed like good excuses to leave you with the desire to see the series as well and, perhaps, to investigate a little more on the subject. I have already added this book and this one to the wishlist!
