Sempre preferi uma esplanada à beira-mar, mas este ano tenho-me obrigado a acordar cedo também ao Sábado e cedido a estender a toalha na areia e até a molhar os pés na água gelada.
As férias ainda não chegaram, mas os fins-de-semana deste Verão têm sido passados na praia - surpreendentemente. As praias do Porto, ou mesmo Matosinhos ou Leça da Palmeira, não são muito apetecíveis... a água é gelada e dói até aos ossos dos mais corajosos, o vento aparece sempre para uma visita mais ou menos intensa e o Porto de Leixões não corresponde propriamente ao cenário mais idílico, mas... a evolução tem sido imensa nos últimos anos e as condições têm melhorado muito - as de conforto, não as climatéricas, claro.
Sabe bem de vez em quando experimentar algo diferente. Seja uma receita, um lugar ou um desporto... Há coisas que não devemos morrer sem ter experimentado - e agora o surf não será uma delas!
Inspirem-se, por exemplo, nesta lista - ou criem a vossa! - e inventem também momentos de felicidade nos lugares mais inesperados.

The beaches of Porto, or even Matosinhos or Leça da Palmeira, are not very desirable... the sea water is cold and it hurts to the bone of the bravest, the wind always comes for a visit more or less intense and the Leixões Port doesn't exactly match to the most idyllic scenario, but... the progress has been immense in recent years and conditions have improved greatly - but not the climatic ones, of course.
Feels good to try something different once in a while. Either is it a recipe, a place or a sport... There are things that we should not die without having experienced - and now the surf isn't one of them!
