Daniel Moreira nasceu na Suíça, mas foi em Portugal que cresceu e é no Porto que vive. Tem formação em arquitectura, mas desde 2001 que se dedica às artes plásticas, dividido entre a pintura, a ilustração e a fotografia. É agenciado pela Who e já participou em várias exposições e publicações, bem como na realização de instalações e intervenções artísticas.
É pena nunca ter tido a oportunidade de ver os seus trabalhos ao vivo, pois já há muito que os admiro à distância. Gosto particularmente da série Noites Longas e da forma como o Daniel se expressa entre o desenho e a pintura, entre o traço e a mancha - criando personagens que são interceptadas por outras, pelos seus medos ou desejos.
É assim que as vejo e foi por encontrar tamanha beleza na sua sinceridade que não resisti a comprar esta reprodução. Foi difícil escolher... mas se visitarem a sua loja e o seu blog vão perceber porquê!

Daniel Moreira was born in Switzerland, but he grew in Portugal and lives in Porto. He has a background in architecture, but since 2001 he's also dedicated to arts: divided between painting, illustration and photography. Too bad I'd had never had the opportunity to see his work live, because I admire it at distance for a while. I particularly like the Noites Longas (Long Nights) series and how Daniel expresses himself between drawing and painting, between the trace of the pencil and the blur of the brush - creating characters that are intercepted by others, by their fears or desires.
That's how I see them and that's why I find beauty in their sincerity, so I couldn't resist buying this print. It was hard to choose one... and if you visit his shop and blog you'll see why!
