Piódão parece parada no tempo. Chamada aldeia presépio, parece quase uma miniatura com que alguém decidiu enfeitar uma encosta de montanha, casario-labirinto feito de xisto e recantos esquecidos.

A Casa da Padaria é o lugar ideal para ficar e admirar o conjunto logo pelo sol da manhã. O Solar dos Pachecos a paragem obrigatória para provar os petiscos locais: os maravilhosos queijos e enchidos, as broas de batata e de abóbora.

Estando bom tempo e as piscinas fluviais a funcionar vale a pena refrescar na água gelada e visitar também Foz d'Égua - de carro ou a caminhar pela serra, a distância de cerca de 3km.

Piódão seems to have stopped in time. It seems almost a miniature with which someone decided to decorate a mountain slope, house-labyrinth made of shale and forgotten corners.

Casa da Padaria is the ideal place to stay and admire the scenery by the morning sun. O Solar dos Pachecos is the must stop for sampling the local delicacies: the wonderful cheeses and sausages, the potato and pumpkin local breads.

Being good weather and the fluvial swimming pools open it is worth refreshing in the cold water and also visit Foz d'Égua - by car or walking by the mountain, the distance of about 3km.

E foi assim a inauguração da Remade X, no passado dia 28, na fantástica Casa da Arquitectura, em Matosinhos!

É com muito prazer que vejo a minha GULA seleccionada para esta edição comemorativa do Remade em Portugal, um projecto que tenta sensibilizar os criadores e o público para as questões ambientais, através de exposições periódicas que levam princípios de reciclagem e reutilização para as áreas da arte e design.

Nesta X edição o cenário não podia ter sido mais bem escolhido e eu não poderia sentir-me em melhor companhia, entre criações de nomes como Álvaro Siza, Souto de Moura, Ana Salazar ou Luís Buchinho - todos aqui.

And it was like this the opening of Remade X, last 28th, in the amazing Casa da Arquitectura in Matosinhos!

It is with great pleasure that I see my GULA selected for this commemorative edition of Remade em Portugal  a project that tries to draw the attention of creators and the public to environmental issues, through periodic exhibitions that take principles of recycling and reutilization to the areas of art and design.

In this X edition the scenario couldn't have been better chosen and I couldn't feel in better company, among creations of names like Álvaro Siza, Souto de Moura, Ana Salazar or Luís Buchinho - all here.

Sim, o principal motivo para a viagem até Bucareste foi a AUTOR, mas foi também um bom pretexto para uma paragem em Milão e uma visita a parte da Roménia.

Bucareste impressionou com a escala das suas avenidas e edifícios, grandiosos e monumentais, mas também deixou antever para além das fachadas as marcas deixadas pelas guerras e pelo comunismo.

A cidade antiga é um incrível emaranhado de ruas, bares e animação, sobretudo à noite, e ao longo do resto da cidade distribuem-se quarteirões com arquitectura de inspiração francesa, ruas comerciais, museus de grande escala e edifícios estatais, entre os quais não passa despercebido o incrivelmente monumental Parlamento.

Não houve tempo para muito mais do que passear pela cidade, dizer olá ao Vlad e relaxar nas esplanadas, mas já valeu bem a pena!

Depois, foi aproveitar o último dia para um recheado passeio pela Transilvânia, em que deu para visitar fortalezas e castelos medievais, paisagens verdes deslumbrantes e deliciosas cidades perdidas nas montanhas.

Yes, the main reason for the trip to Bucharest was AUTOR fair, but it was also a good pretext for a stopover in Milan and a visit to part of Romania.

Bucharest impressed with the scale of its avenues and buildings, imposing and monumental, but also made visible beyond the facades the marks left by wars and communism.

The old city is an incredible tangle of streets, bars and entertainment, especially at night, and along the rest of the city there are blocks with French-inspired architecture, shopping streets, large-scale museums and state buildings, among which the incredibly monumental Parliament can't go unnoticed.

There was no time for much more than strolling around the city, saying hello to Vlad and relaxing on the cafes, but it was well worth it!

Then, on the last day, it was time for a packed tour around Transylvania, when we visited medieval fortresses and castles, stunning green landscapes and delightful cities lost in the mountains.

Já algumas semanas depois, mas ainda a tempo de partilhar algumas fotos de Milão!

Esta foi, sobretudo, uma paragem de oportunidade - o voo para Bucareste não era directo e a escala em Milão era a mais favorável, por isso, porque não aproveitar para ficar 2 ou 3 dias e conhecer a cidade?

Milão é uma cidade de personalidade forte, séria e rica. Belas igrejas medievais convivem muito bem com quarteirões neoclássicos e edifícios mais recentes. A famosa área central do Duomo (não deixem de subir aos terraços!) e da Galleria Vittorio Emanuele é sem dúvida a de maior destaque e reúne os símbolos com maior presença em toda a cidade: a religião, o poder, a moda.

Mas há muito mais para ver em Milão, desde o imponente Castello Sforzesco - e a bela inacabada Pietà Rondanini de Michelangelo - até Santa Maria delle Grazie - e a imperdível Última Ceia de da Vinci. É ainda preciso comer uma pizza na relva do Parco Sempione, passear pelo silêncio luxuoso do Quadrilatero d'Oro e viver o ambiente festivo dos Navigli à noite, o lugar ideal para nos rendermos a experimentar o famoso aperitivo.

Already a few weeks later, but still in time to share some photos of Milan!

This was mainly an opportunity stop - the flight to Bucharest was not direct and the stopover in Milan was the most favorable, so why not take advantage to stay 2 or 3 days and get to know the city?

Milan is a city with a strong personality, serious and rich. Fine medieval churches coexist very well with neoclassical blocks and more recent buildings. The famous central area of ​​the Duomo (don't forget to climb to the terraces!) and Galleria Vittorio Emanuele is undoubtedly the most prominent and brings together the symbols with the greatest presence in the whole city: religion, power, fashion.

But there is much more to see in Milan, from the imposing Castello Sforzesco - and Michelangelo's beautiful unfinished Pietà Rondanini - to Santa Maria delle Grazie - and the must-see Last Supper of da Vinci. It's still a must to have a pizza on the grass of Parco Sempione, to stroll through the luxurious silence of Quadrilatero d'Oro and enjoy the festive atmosphere of the Navigli, the ideal place to try the famous aperitivo.

Bucharest | AUTOR

A ida à AUTOR, feira internacional de joalharia contemporânea, em Bucareste, foi sem dúvida o principal motivo para esta viagem. Mas daí a juntar esta inspiradora experiência profissional a umas mini-férias, com direito a passeios por Milão, Bucareste e Transilvânia, foi um passo!

Em breve falarei do resto, mas para começar, trago-vos fotos e o feedback da participação neste incrível evento dedicado em exclusivo ao mundo da joalharia de autor - uma das três feiras do género na Europa.

Cerca de 90 autores de todo o mundo expuseram as suas mais recentes colecções no Grand Hotel du Boulevard, no centro de Bucareste, no fim-de-semana de 13 e 14 de Maio.

O edifício é fantástico, com dois espaços que contrastam entre si: um branco, de linhas modernas, o outro exuberante na decoração barroca - foi neste último que fiquei, pronta a apresentar a minha Colecção Tubular ao público romeno. A organização do evento revelou-se fantástica em todos os aspectos, desde a imagem irreverente e cheia de personalidade, até à simpatia e apoio dado ao longo do evento. O público, afável e interessado, encheu o espaço e manteve os autores ocupados durante todo o fim-de-semana, enquanto conversava, fazia questões, experimentava as peças... foi uma refrescante experiência e muito gratificante receber o feedback positivo do público!

Para terminar, uma conferência em jeito de conversa informal e uma after party na Segunda, ajudaram a descontrair e ao convívio entre colegas.

Foi um fim-de-semana cansativo, mas pleno de boas energias! Parabéns à organização e um muito obrigado a todos os que, entre tantos trabalhos fantásticos, escolheram uma peça de joalharia minha para levar para casa!

Taking part in AUTOR, the international contemporary jewelry fair in Bucharest, was undoubtedly the main reason for this trip. But then, adding this inspiring professional experience to a mini-vacation, entitled to tours around Milan, Bucharest and Transylvania, was a step!

Soon I'll tell you about the rest, but to begin with, I'll bring you some photos and feedback on attending this incredible event dedicated exclusively to the world of contemporary jewelry - one of the three fairs of its kind in Europe.

Around 90 authors from around the world were exhibiting their latest collections at the Grand Hotel du Boulevard in central Bucharest on the weekend of 13th and 14th of May.

The building is fantastic, with two contrasting spaces: a white one, with modern lines, the other luxurious in baroque decoration - I was in the latter, ready to present my Tubular Collection to the Romanian public. The organization of the event has been fantastic in every aspect, from the irreverent and striking image, to the sympathy and support given throughout the event. The audience, affable and interested, filled the space and kept the authors busy all weekend, while talking, asking questions, trying the pieces... it was a refreshing experience and very gratifying to receive the positive feedback from the audience!

In the end, an informal conference and an after-party on Monday helped to relax and socialize with colleagues.

It was a tiring weekend, but full of good energy! Congratulations to the organization and a big thank you to all of you who, among so many fantastic artists, have chosen one of my jewelry pieces to take home!
